Voice: Santillan remembrances of Vietnam not clear to fellow vet

December 27, 2001

I was in Vietnam from October 1966 to July 1970, maybe not a record, but a long time by anyone's standards.

Mr. Santillan states a bitter cliche-ridden sentiment of the "lifer" instructor, farmers by day, fighters by night and the Chinese fighting alongside the North Vietnamese regulars?

Well, there were a ton of ethnic Chinese who lived in Vietnam and also fought for the south. However, I am not sure of his point.

I also read Eddie Castillo's remberances. Welcome home, Eddie.
