An El Centro woman died after she was hit by a pickup while riding her bicycle Friday.
El Centro police Sgt. Mike Crankshaw said 60-year-old Charlotte Paris was riding her bike west on Villa Avenue before she attempted to turn left to head south on Dogwood Road. A pickup driven by a Banning man then smashed into Paris; knocking her off the bike around 6 p.m.
"Upon arrival, officers attempted CPR," Crankshaw said, but they could not revive the woman.
El Centro Fire Department paramedics arrived and pronounced the woman dead.
The Banning man, Ernest Collins, passed a series of tests before he was released.
The accident is still under investigation.
