Second annual tech conference Friday, Saturday in E.C.

International speaker and educational technology author Alan November will be speaking during the second annual Imperial Valley Technology Conference on Friday and Saturday at Southwest High School in El Centro.

The purpose of the conference is to advance and address the use of educational technology in instructional curriculum and administration at all levels, according to a press release from the Imperial County Office of Education.

November will deliver the keynote address in the Southwest Performing Arts Theatre from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, states a press release.

The title of his presentation is "Parents, Community, Teachers and Kids: Community and Learning Technologies."

November has guided schools, government organizations and industries as they plan to improve quality with technology.

On Saturday, more than 30 conference sessions are scheduled on a variety of topics and computer platforms. Sessions begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 3 p.m., according to the press release.


Session topics will include overviews of software and hardware, multimedia design and development, Internet presentations, teacher utilities, technology tools and applications and more.

A vendor exhibit hall will feature displays of the latest educational technology software, hardware and other products related to the educational technology conference.
