Off-roaders find body off Ogilby

January 11, 2002

GOLD ROCK RANCH — An Imperial County Coroner's Office investigator was heading to this area of eastern Imperial County this morning to investigate the discovery of human remains in the desert.

Coroner Investigator Gary Hayes said off-roaders discovered skeletal remains earlier this week off Ogilby Road near the old gold mining town Tumco at the base of the Cargo Muchacho Mountains.

There was no information whether the remains were those of a man or woman.

Hayes said he was going to meet with the off-roaders, who were to guide him to the location of the remains this morning.

Further information was unavailable at presstime.
