Voice: Press praised for printing Strong letter

January 14, 2002

I would certainly like to thank you for printing Dr. Strong's letter "Evidence points to Islam not being a religion of peace," which appeared in Tuesday's Voice of the People. Frankly, I was beginning to suspect your newspaper of way too much left-wing propaganda-(clearly evident in many Associated Press stories) making me sorely tempted to cancel my subscription.

As you will no doubt be bomb blasted with letters prompted by members of the Arab American Anti-Discrimination Committee (remember???"Talking Points & Strategies for Media Activism" at www.adc.org/action/2000/9october2000.htm) I for one would like to applaud you for printing Dr. Strong's opinion.

Nonetheless, I usually spend at least two hours per day researching current in-the-news stories and events to find verification. Most Americans are too wise to swallow propaganda.

Take a tip from President Bush, who said at the Ontario conference, "Get off the fence," and print more articles that we are concerned about. Such as: Crime on the border? Arrests being made on the border? Homeland security being enacted here and now? You have not once printed REWARDSFORJUSTICE.NET.
