January 17, 2002|By LAURA MITCHELL, Staff Writer

The second annual Agrobaja agriculture exhibit is scheduled for April 11-13 south of Mexicali

The exposition will be at the campgrounds of the agriculture test field of the National Institute of Forest, Agricultural and Livestock Research at kilomenter 7.5 on Mexicali-San Felipe Road.

"This exposition is important to Imperial Valley farmers because the Mexicali, Imperial and Coachella valleys are one growing region. We need to work together," Agrobaja spokesman Ildefonso Dorame said.

Agriculture and livestock exhibitors will show their latest products, services and technology in 200 indoor booths, eight semi-covered booths and 20 outdoor areas.

The exhibit will include:

· equipment demonstrations;

· meeting rooms;

· cattle exhibition and auction;

· lectures on technological advances in production and marketing of crops and livestock;

· over 6 acres of crop display.

Agrobaja is a joint effort between business and Mexican federal, state and municipal government agencies.
