IVBMX to stage clinic

SEELEY — The Imperial Valley BMX Club will stage a bicycle motocross clinic from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the club's track in Seeley. Pro riders Richie Anderson and Kevin Royal will offer tips.

Cost is $40 and includes lunch and product giveaways.

Racing action continues Saturday. Sign-ups will be taken from 5-6 p.m., followed by racing.

Calipatria wrestlers place at two tournaments

Anselmo Martinez won the 160-pound weight class in the cadet division at two separate junior wrestling tournaments for the Calipatria Rebels recently.

Imperial grapplers place at Hilltop

Four Imperial junior wrestlers won their weight divisions at the Hilltop Tournament in Chula Vista on Saturday.

The Imperial Junior Wrestling club will host its own tournament Sunday.

Miller wins pro stock main event

IMPERIAL — Rick Miller edged David White to win the pro stock division at Imperial Valley Speedway last Saturday night.

Mike Lerwill finished third in the main event.

George Morris Jr. won the factory stock main event, followed by John Seaman and Alan Raney. Doug Peterson won the modified main event, while Duane Rogers placed second and Mark Allison was third.

Four Brawley Gladiators

win weight classes

Four Brawley Gladiator junior wrestlers won their weight classes at the Hilltop wrestling tournament last Saturday.

Marcus Prado took first in the 40-pound rookie division, Nick Torres was first in the 45-pound rookie class, Chauncey Rowe captured the 120-pound schoolboy division and Corey Caffarella was first in the 110-pound cadet class.
