Mike Lopez Obeso

Services will be private for Mike Lopez Obeso, 62, of Holtville, who died Tuesday in El Centro Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Obeso was born in Holtville on April 16, 1939.

He married Inez Precie on Feb. 13, 1957, in El Centro.

Mr. Obeso was raised in El Centro where he attended schools. After marriage, he and his wife made their home in Imperial for more than 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Tommy and Gregorio Obeso.

Survivors include his wife, Inez Obeso of Holtville; daughter and son-in-law, Martha and Rick Williams of Seattle and Viola and Rene Flores of Imperial; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Lisa Obeso of La Quiñta, Mark and Linda Obeso of El Centro, Mario and Annette Obeso of Seeley and Manuel and Raquel Obeso of Mira Mesa; daughter Estella Obeso of Holtville; brothers, Albert, David and Victor Obeso of El Centro and Abelardo Obeso of Imperial; sisters, Ramona Ruiz of Indio, Connie Sisneros of Lake Elsinore, Angie Gastelum of Imperial and Dora Williams of Indio; 22 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.



No services will be conducted for William K. "Bill" Propps, 76, of El Centro, who died Thursday in El Centro Regional Medical Center.

Burial will be private.

Mr. Propps was born July 10, 1925, in Broken Bow, Okla.

He married Anna Propps of Imperial.

He joined the Navy in 1943, serving in World War II and the Korean War. He reached the rank of electrician's mate third class. After the service he joined the Los Angeles County Fire Department. When he moved to the Imperial Valley he joined the El Centro Fire Department and served as an emergency medical technician. He also owned and operated a local roofing company for some 20 years.

Survivors include his former wife, Anna Propps of Imperial; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Wendy Propps of El Centro; daughter, Lucy Lewis of El Centro; and grandchildren, Andrea Lewis of Las Vegas, Joanna Guerrero, Jason Brooks, R.J. Propps and Bailey Propps, all of El Centro.


Services are pending for Jose "Joe" Ulloa, 22, of Brawley, who died Thursday in Brawley. A determination of a cause of death is pending.

Mr. Ulloa was born June 21, 1979, in Brawley.

He was raised in Brawley and attended Brawley Union High School. He worked at Brawley's McDonald's restaurant where he was a cook. He enjoyed music, singing and playing the guitar.

Survivors include his fiancé, Lillian Gutierrez; daughter, Elise Ulloa; mother, Rosa Limon and father, Jose Ulloa; sister, Tanya Ulloa; brothers, Carlos, Roy and Fabian Limon; maternal grandparents, Luis and Maria Revuelta; and paternal grandparents, Olga and Isidro Ulloa; all of Brawley.

The family suggest memorials be sent in the name of Joe Ulloa to Government Agencies Credit Union, 205 Main St., Brawley, CA 92227.


No public services will be conducted for Larry D. Whitt, 56, of Brawley who died Wednesday in Brawley's Pioneers Memorial Hospital.

Burial will be private.

Mr. Whitt was born Sept. 4, 1945 in Flora, Ill.

He married Anna Holmes in Brawley on Oct. 24, 1978.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Whitt of Brawley; daughters, Lorie Zills of Susanville and Frankie Schoors of Riverside; sons, Larry Whitt Jr. and Shannon Whitt, both of Brawley; brothers, Glenn, Merlin and Norman Whitt, all of Brawley, and Gene Whitt of Rochester, Minn.; sisters, Darlene Miller and Delores Pistole, both of Brawley; and three grandchildren.
