Five months after being waived by the Tennessee Titans, El Centro native Marshaun Tucker was signed by the New York Giants on Wednesday.
The 5-foot-9, 180-pound receiver signed as a rookie free agent with Tennessee last April following the 2001 NFL college player draft.
During his senior campaign at the University of Oregon in 2000, Tucker finished with a team-high 50 receptions for 871 yards and six touchdowns.
In 1996 at Central Union High School in El Centro, he finished with 20 touchdowns. The following year at Southwestern College in Chula Vista he led the Foothill Conference with 1,222 yards receiving (14th in the state) on 52 catches, with nine touchdowns.
