NILAND — A Niland resident was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop by county Sheriff's Office deputies.
Sheriff's Sgt. Jerry DeMorst said Deputy Ray De La Rosa stopped a vehicle driven by Walter Orallo, 39, of Niland about 11:20 p.m. Saturday.
De La Rosa conducted the traffic stop because Orallo's vehicle had expired license tags.
DeMorst said De La Rosa asked Orallo for consent to search his vehicle, which Orallo granted.
De La Rosa found about 1.7 grams of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe in the vehicle.
A county jail representative said Orallo is in custody at the county jail with bail set at $10,000.
