New medical executive board seated at Pioneers Memorial Hospital for 2002

BRAWLEY — Pioneers Memorial Hospital has announced the names of the new medical executive board for 2002. These doctors have been elected by the active medical staff to lead medical staff.

Dr. Travis H. Calvin Jr. has been named to a third term as chief of staff of Pioneers. In addition to specializing in pain management, Calvin has served PMH as a neurosurgeon since 1969, holding board certification in both fields.

The re-elected vice chief of staff is Dr. George Fareed, who has previously served as vice chief, chief of medicine and secretary-treasurer. Fareed has a general practice in Brawley.

Dr. Virgilio Almaden, general practice, who has been the hospital's chief of medicine in the past, will serve as secretary-treasurer. Almaden has a general practice and has served at PMH since 1991.

Also serving on the board are: Dr. Mohammad I. Admani, chief of pediatrics and neonatology; Dr. Michael Berger, director of emergency services; Dr. Vincent W. Chiu, chief of anesthesia; Dr. Christopher C. Lai, chief of surgery; Dr. Linda Marden, chief of medicine; Dr. Morteza Moussavi, interim chief of pathology and laboratory; Dr. Michael R. Price, chief of obstetrics and perinatology; Dr. Horacio Rodiles, chief of staff elect; and Dr. Robert Stone, chief of diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine.
