NILAND — A single-car accident here that claimed the life of a 37-year-old woman is still under investigation by California Highway Patrol officers.
An autopsy Tuesday revealed Donna Menasco Angus of Niland died of blunt impact injuries to the head, said county Deputy Coroner Rick Williams.
CHP Officer Hector Tabarez said Angus was in her car traveling at a high rate of speed east on Beal Road east of Cuff Road about 9 a.m. Monday when her car hit a dip that caused it to go airborne.
After returning to the road the vehicle spun and struck a power pole.
