Voice: Charge the dunes users for enforcement

January 25, 2002

I say let the people who go to Glamis and the desert pay for the law enforcement.

Why should the citizens who don't enjoy going out there and playing in the sand and getting drunk and doped up have to pay for these misfits?

And if you don't believe that they get drunk and doped up, just read this newspaper and you will see how many were arrested.

Hit them in the pocketbook and I am sure it will stop. If you have 200,000 people, charge each one $5 a head. If they don't like it, tough.

That would bring in a lot revenue to Imperial County exactly $1 million.

Wake up, Imperial County supervisors. Here is a chance to make some money for the county. They would never do this because it wouldn't help their field-burning farmer buddies. It is time for you good ole boys to go. See you in November
