Brawley P.D. looking into stabbing

BRAWLEY — Police here were investigating today what may have been an attempted murder in which a man was stabbed in one of his arms Saturday.

Police as of this morning had little information in the case. They were expecting today to interview the victim, Jose Iraheta, 32, of Brawley, for a second time.

The stabbing occurred Saturday afternoon. Police received a call of a man down at 948 G St. at 4:20 p.m. A resident of the apartment complex there made the call to police.

When officers arrived they found Iraheta with a stab wound to one of his arms. Iraheta was taken to Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley, where he was treated and released.

Brawley police Lt. Henry Graham said there were no suspects and police were continuing to investigate the matter.
