Holtville FFA takes fourth

Holtville FFA recently placed fourth in the parliamentary procedure contest Jan. 23, hosted by Imperial FFA.

On Jan. 30 five members participated in the Imperial section speaking contest at San Pasqual High School in Winterhaven. Michael Mora placed first and Aubrey Alexander placed second in the novice job interview contest. Doug Carter placed second in the advanced job interview contest and Melody Carter placed second in the advanced extemporaneous speaking contest. Both Doug and Melody will advance to the regional finals March 27 at Cal Poly, Pomona.

Holtville FFA also had three members attend the Southern Arizona Independent Livestock Association show Jan. 26 in Yuma. Jesica Freeman exhibited her lamb project and Stephanie Leimgruber and Jayson Matejousky exhibited their beef projects. Jayson placed fourth in his showmanship class. Stephanie placed first in her market class and received the award of reserve advanced showman.

Holtville FFA is working on preparing for the California Mid-Winter Fair and Fiesta and National FFA Week, Feb. 16-23.
