McSee keys Central's win

Vincent McSee had 25 points and 12 rebounds Tuesday to lead Central Union High's boys basketball team to an 86-74 win here over Holtville High.

McSee also had five steals and six assists.

Luis Robles had 21 points and seven boards for Central and Javier Guerrero had 17 points.

Andres Quesada led Holtville with 24 points. Eric Cueto had 20, Jon Singh and Jacob Freeman each added 14.

Central (2-22 overall, 2-7 Imperial Valley League) hosts Calexico High at 7 p.m. Thursday. Holtville (8-12, 2-6 IVL) is at Palo Verde High in Blythe for a 7 p.m. Thursday contest.

Calexico 68, Imperial 59

IMPERIAL — Chris Ramsey erupted for 30 points Tuesday as Calexico High's boys' basketball team turned back host Imperial High 68-59.


Adrian Maldonado added 16 points for Calexico.

Danny Jones had 29 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks for Imperial. David Thomas had 11 points.

Calexico (5-4 IVL) plays at 7 p.m. Thursday at Central Union High while Imperial (3-2 Desert League, 10-13 overall) is at Calipatria for a 7 p.m. Thursday game.

Calipatria 46, Southwest 42

Ezequiel Navarro scored 23 points to lead the Calipatria High boys basketball team to a 46-42 victory over Southwest in El Centro on Tuesday.

Vontray Taylor and Roy Vega both scored 10 for Calipatria, now 6-3 in league.

Brian Martinez led Southwest (6-3 league) with 12 points, followed by Bradley Goff with 11.

Southwest hosts Brawley at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Brawley 75, Palo Verde 65

BLYTHE — Lafayette Lofton scored 27 points Tuesday to lead Brawley Union boys basketball team to a 75-55 win over Palo Verde.

Mark Rivera added 19 points and Miguel Melendez hit 14.

Brawley (9-0 IVL) travels to Southwest High for a 7 p.m. Thursday game.
