Voice: Woeten may have been misunderstood

February 13, 2002

I bet Mr. Woeten didn't mean to imply that all the children he was substituting for were all drug babies. I have known Mr. Woeten since I was in high school (over 20 years ago) and he has taught at many different schools. I'm sure he has seen all different kinds of handicapped children through the years. He was just making a point come home to future mothers — please don't use drugs while you are pregnant.

I appreciate Mr. Woeten's letters because they make people think. I have told him this personally.
