The El Centro City Council, sitting as the city Redevelopment Agency board, is scheduled to award three contracts associated with downtown parking lot upgrades.

The RDA meets right after the City Council, which meets in open session starting at 6:30 p.m. at 1275 Main St.

The first contract would be to El Centro-based Granite Construction for $203,488.25 for the asphalt overlay or seal coat for parking lots two, three, five, seven and 10 downtown.

The second contract would be to Holtville-based Sun Landscape Inc. for $57,821.60 for the landscaping of lots two, three, four, five and eight.

The final contract would be to DEZ Construction for $60,973.61 for two shade structures each on lots two and five.

The RDA board will be presented with progress reviews by the Imperial Valley Economic Development Corp. and the Imperial County Film Commission.

There are no action items on Wednesday's agenda of the El Centro City Council.

On the council consent agenda is a request to approve the job description, salary grade level and budget allocation for the hiring of a risk manager. The monthly pay would be $3,969 to $4,983. The City Council decided to hire a risk manager to help reduce the costs of workers compensation through improved safety.

The agenda includes a public appearance by two individuals scheduled to discuss city facilities.
