CALEXICO — Mayor Pro Tem John Renison hopes to see "as many people as possible" attend a kick-off planning meeting for the week-long series of events celebrating this city's 94th anniversary.
The week of activities associated with the anniversary will be staged in conjunction with a mariachi festival the weekend of May 17-19.
At the meeting, "We're going to elect a chairperson and committee and figure out what sort of events will be held. Will there be a dinner? Will there be a dance?" Renison said.
The meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Alejandro and Florencia Nogales Conference room in the main administration building at San Diego State University-Imperial Valley campus.
