Voice: Leimgruber has gone above and beyond call of duty for county

February 25, 2002

This letter is a response to the letter submitted to your paper last week by John Garcia regarding our District 5 supervisor, Wally Leimgruber.

Shame on you, Mr. Garcia! You obviously have not done your "homework." My husband and I have known Mr. Leimgruber and his wife, Margie, personally and professionally for over 25 years.

We were among the many Holtville residents who assisted Mr. Leimgruber in his campaign for District 5 supervisor. Since his election, I personally have called upon Mr. Leimgruber for assistance within the realms of his expertise as county supervisor regarding my employment with Imperial County.

It has been through his numerous intervention with the Human Resources Department and the County Administrative Office that I have received satisfactory outcomes to some delicate situations.

Mr. Leimgruber was instrumental in bringing to light situations within the Human Resources Department and County Administrative Office that potentially saved the county and taxpayers thousands of dollars. Mr. Leimgruber did his "homework" and found improprieties within both departments that resulted in the "dismissals" of two department heads.

We feel that Mr. Leimgruber has performed above and beyond the call of duty to his constituents and Imperial County. It is with great pride that we call him "friend" and will continue to support every effort made to achieve another successful four-year term.
