The Imperial County Coroner's Office this morning was investigating the death of a Centinela State Prison inmate who died Monday.
An autopsy on the inmate, whose name was unavailable, was scheduled to be conducted today.
Coroner investigators said they were attempting to determine if the inmate died from natural causes.
They said there were no signs of foul play.
A toxicology test was going to be done to determine if the inmate may have had drugs or alcohol in his system when he died.
