Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Calexico Community Center saw an overflow crowd of 285 of the most outstanding citizens in Calexico gathered together to pledge support for Henry "Kiki" Legaspi in his quest for the post of city councilman.
This large political gathering came together to honor and encourage Legaspi in his endeavor to become the third of the Legaspi brothers to be elected to the council.
Calexico is indeed fortunate to have a candidate with a degree in electrical engineering from Loyola University.
For 12 years Mr. Legaspi headed the power division of the Imperial Irrigation District; in this capacity he directed 400 employees with a budget of over $200 million. He was an outstanding city manager, which gives him invaluable insight of how the city government functions.
In addition Henry has been chairman of the Calexico Planning Commission, a member of the school board and a consultant for the Heffernan Memorial Hospital board. All and all he is the most respected and qualified candidate.
