This March 5 is election day in Calexico. Again Richard Ortega has come back to run for City Council. Just remember it was he who voted to give Wal-Mart $2.8 million. For every tax dollar collected by Wal-Mart in Calexico, 50 cents goes back to Wal-Mart's headquarters out of town.
It was his leadership that has led Calexico voters back to face this Wal-Mart Measure B. Here is another chance to vote for Calexico's future. Please do the right thing. Can Calexico afford to give Wal-Mart a carte blanche on our tax dollars again? Can we afford electing candidates who help multi-billion dollar corporations?
I myself do not think we can afford it. For my kids' future, and Calexico's future, my full support will go to the candidates who really care about Calexico.
