CALEXICO — The Imperial Valley Street Interdiction Team arrested five individuals during a probation and arrest-warrant sweep here Tuesday.

Three of the individuals were arrested for violations of their probation, one for an outstanding arrest warrant for possession of a controlled substance for sale and one for an outstanding arrest warrant for assault with a deadly weapon.

The identities of those arrested were not available this morning.

According to a press release, interdiction team members worked with Imperial County Narcotic Task Force agents, Calexico police officers, county probation officers, U.S. Border Patrol agents, U.S. marshals and the county Sheriff's Office on the sweep.

"The main purpose of this operation is to let people on probation know they will be kept accountable for their actions and to make sure they are complying with the conditions of their probation," said Garth Dale, SIT assistant commander.
