Supervisors tackle light agenda

The county Board of Supervisors has a light agenda for its meeting Tuesday, which is election day.

The board is scheduled to transfer a $100,000 U.S. Department of Agriculture grant from the Heber Public Utility District to the county for the Heber essential services building.

According to county documents, the county intends to own the property, which is in escrow, and the grant specifies the money must be transferred to the property owner.

The board also may:

· direct the county registrar of voters to set an election to fill an open position on the county board of retirement on May 28;

· award a $154,136.60 contract to Floyd Nelson Jr. & Sons Inc. of Holtville to reconstruct the intersection at Dogwood and Keystone roads. Concrete at the intersection has extensive cracking.

The Board of Supervisors meets at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the board chambers on the second floor of the County Administration Center, 940 W. Main St., El Centro. Meeting agendas are available online at: www.imperialcounty.net
