The Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors will make a public counter offer for wages and benefits to the district's two employee groups at the next board meeting.

The board meets in open session at 1 p.m. Tuesday at 81-600 Ave. 58, La Quinta.

The employee groups — the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 465 and the Imperial Irrigation District Employees Association — submitted their wage and benefit requests during the past three months.

The board is offering to continue the same pay increases already in place, and for heath benefits, to follow certain recommendations of an internal advisory group, according to the staff report on the issue. The details were not included.

The negotiations will now become closed-door discussions.

In other business, the board will consider:

· approval of $25,000 for additional economic and hydrologic modeling associated with the quantification settlement agreement.

· approval of $150,000 for crane rentals.

· authorization to advertise, recruit and hire a contract administrator. The pay range is $5,685 to $7,256 monthly. With benefits it comes to $8,214 to $10,484.
