SACRAMENTO — Applications for participation in the California Chamber of Commerce's new California Agricultural Fellowship now are available to qualified high school and junior college agricultural teachers throughout the state.
The fellowship program will bring selected agricultural teachers to Sacramento each summer for an intensive orientation in the workings of the state Legislature, the agencies of state government involved with agriculture, the public policy issues impacting the agribusiness community and the broad scope and economic importance of agriculture in California. This year's fellowship will run from July 28-Aug. 9.
Applications for the summer 2002 program can be secured from the Web site of the California Agricultural Teachers' Association at www.calagteachers.org. The association is co-sponsoring the program with the California chamber's non-profit affiliate, the California Foundation for Commerce and Education.
Questions concerning the fellowships should be directed to Doug Gordon, executive director of California Foundation for Commerce and Education, at (916) 448-2323 or to Jim Aschwanden, executive director of the California Agricultural Teachers' Association, at (916) 443-2282.
