In Friday's letter to editor I asked the public to call me with comments about any voting problems encountered on March 5.
The most enlightening comment was from a new precinct worker. She found part of the closing instructions disturbing. She was instructed to open the ballot box (she had the combination to the lock) and inspect each set of ballots in their "privacy" envelope. She was to check to see if any were damaged.
Now how many of us voting that day thought their ballots were "secret"? She said the process of counting supplies and reviewing the ballots took two hours.
I still have many questions to ask. My phone is 355-2761 for further comments from the public.
