Imperial Valley College will be hosting its annual Disability Awareness Day on campus Monday.

The event will run from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Aten Road campus just across from Pioneers' Museum.

Actor and Golden Globe nominee Chris Burke will be appearing at 10:30 a.m. in the DePaoli Sports Complex on campus. Burke, who has Down syndrome, has appeared in several movies and television series, including starring as Corky in "Life Goes On."

There also will be an agency fair with representatives from agencies that provide services to people with disabilities on hand to give information and answer questions.

For the many children expected to attend, there will be a comic ventriloquist, giant air jumps and a "sea" of balls to play in, carnival games, clowns and a petting zoo. The Valley Independent Bank Clydesdales will put in an appearance.

The public is invited and all children's activities are free.
