I found the outcome of Measure B interesting but not surprising. Something like 66 percent of the people voted for the Wal-Mart expansion.
Keep in mind, writing this letter has nothing to do with Wal-Mart; it has to do with the will of the people.
The leaders of Calexico believe they know what's best for Calexico, but they forgot to ask the people. I believe our city fathers have their own agenda and it has nothing to do with what is best for Calexico — it's called "small town politics" or perhaps "feathering your own nest."
If you want to be a good leader, then listen to the people. They might surprise you. They know what's best for themselves. They just need you to be their voice.
