Drug sweep in North County area by NTF nets 7 arrests

The Imperial County Narcotic Task Force conducted a drug sweep in North County this week that resulted in seven arrests, it was reported this morning.

The sweep Wednesday was in Brawley, Westmorland, Calipatria and Niland.

NTF Cmdr. David Forrester said the sweep focused on making contact with people on the streets. He said stops that were made were done based on probable cause.

Of the seven arrested, six were adults and one was a 16-year-old juvenile.

Those arrested were;

· Downey Holcomb, 45, of Niland, on a count of driving on a suspended license

· Eduardo Tello, 31, of Niland, on a count of being under the influence and possessing drug paraphernalia

· Jose Santana, 30, of Brawley, for an outstanding warrant

· David Davila, 36, of Westmorland, for an alleged parole violation and possessing drug paraphernalia


· Timothy Stiff, 41, of Brawley, on a count of possessing heroin, an alleged parole violation and for failing to meet with a parole officer

· A 16-year-old youth Niland youth on a count of possessing marijuana and for an alleged probation violation.

The name of the seventh person arrested and details on what that person was arrested for were unavailable this morning.

Bail information and whether all seven remained in custody this morning also was unavailable.
