Calexico residents found with meth, heroin and assorted paraphernalia

CALEXICO — Police here arrested two Calexico residents for possession of a narcotic after a traffic stop.

Calexico police Lt. Jim Neujahr said the vehicle in which Jacqueline Ramirez, 21, and Refugio Navalles, 37, was pulled over about 4:30 p.m. Thursday by police near the 400 block of East Third Street for a minor traffic violation.

Neujahr said police asked both individuals for identification during the traffic stop. Ramirez, the passenger, did not have any identification. Police also noticed signs of her being under the influence of a narcotic.

Police found about two and a half grams of methamphetamine, several used syringes, one with heroin in it, and some smoking pipes on Ramirez and Navalles.

Both were being held in the county jail today with bail set at $10,000.
