BRAWLEY — A 34-year-old Brawley woman was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers after she allegedly caused an accident while under the influence of alcohol.

CHP Officer Carlos Davila said Jami Michelle Tucker was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, child endangerment and having an open container of alcohol.

Davila said Tucker was traveling north on Highway 86 just south of Legion Road in the right lane in a pickup also carrying Tucker's 4-year-old daughter.

Also heading north on Highway 86 was Sonia Ramirez, 31, of Westmorland, who was driving a four-door sedan in the left lane.

Davila said Tucker apparently tried to make a left turn in front of Ramirez's vehicle.

The front right side of Ramirez's vehicle collided with the left rear side of Tucker's vehicle, which overturned and came to rest upside down in the center divider.

Ramirez's vehicle skidded to a stop in the center divider. No one was injured.
