Pedro Peraza

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in Hems Bros. Mortuary chapel in El Centro for Pedro Peraza, 75, of El Centro, who died Thursday in Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in El Centro. The Rev. Gil Espuelas will officiate.

Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Calexico.

Mr. Peraza was born Nov. 30, 1926, in Teacapan, Sinaloa, Mexico.

He married Bacelicia Meza in 1966 in Mexicali.

He immigrated to the U.S. in the early 1940s to work in the dairy industry in the San Diego area. In the 1950s he moved to the Imperial Valley during the Bracero program.

In 1962 he settled in the Imperial Valley and worked as a cowboy for local cattle companies for about 35 years.

Survivors include wife, Bacelicia Peraza of El Centro; sons, Jose Daniel, Pedro Jr., Fernando, Francisco Javier and Rafael Peraza, all of El Centro; daughters, Maria Rosalina Peraza Martinez and Maria Guadalupe Peraza, both of El Centro; brother, Felipe Peraza of El Centro; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alejandra Peraza and Benito Gonzales of the state of Sinaloa, Mexico, Trinidad Peraza and Juan Melin of Pasadena; 19 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
