CALEXICO — A 45-year-old woman and a 16- or 17-year-old juvenile suffered minor injuries Saturday in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 111 and Jasper Road.

Calexico police Sgt. Jesus Serrano said Yolanda Madrigal Rodriguez and the juvenile, both of Brawley, were injured in the accident at 3:20 p.m.

Serrano said Rodriguez's vehicle broadsided a vehicle driven by Mary Jo Ramsey, 55, of El Centro.

Serrano said Rodriguez was heading south on Highway 111 while Ramsey was heading west on Jasper Road when the accident occurred.

There are no traffic lights at the intersection; only two stop signs controlling the east and west traffic on Jasper Road.

Serrano said Ramsey was trying to cross the highway when Rodriguez's vehicle broadsided her vehicle. Ramsey's vehicle spun a couple of times and turned over onto its side. Ramsey was not injured.

Rodriguez's vehicle came to a stop on the shoulder. Both Rodriguez and the juvenile were taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center.

Ramsey was not injured in the accident.
