Imperial County Narcotic Task Force agents served a search warrant Thursday night at an El Centro residence and seized 2.87 ounces of methamphetamine.

NTF Assistant Commander Mike Loyd said agents arrested Robert Vargas Hernandez, 27, and Cassandra Cocova, 20, both of El Centro, at their residence in the 300 block of West Hamilton Avenue on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale. The search warrant was served at 9:50 p.m. Thursday.

Loyd said the two were living together inside the residence. They were arrested without incident.

Loyd said NTF agents served the search warrant with the assistance from Drug Enforcement Administration agents and El Centro police.

A spokeswoman from the county jail said both Hernandez and Cocova had posted bail and been released Friday.

Loyd said agents will seek charges against the two with the county District Attorney's Office.
