BRAWLEY — Imperial County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a 17-year-old Wednesday who they think burglarized a farm southeast of here.

Sheriff's Sgt. Jerry DeMorst said Deputy Ray De La Rosa arrested the juvenile after, "good detective work."

The juvenile is thought to have stolen a $2,000 welder and a car battery charger from a farm near Stahl and McConnell roads.

DeMorst said the burglary was reported about 11:30 a.m. Wednesday by the owner of the farm. The owner told De La Rosa he thought it could have been two juveniles, the 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, who used to work at the farm.

De La Rosa contacted the 17-year-old boy and arrested him after he found the property. The 16-year-old was not arrested.

The arrested juvenile was being held at juvenile hall today.

DeMorst said of De La Rosa, "He did very good work."
