A 43-year-old woman found dead in her home Friday morning is thought to have died of a drug overdose.

El Centro police think it might be possible Lina Marie Castro died in a residence in the 1100 block of 17th Street in El Centro of a drug overdose.

Police Lt. Tim Blankenship said she had a drug abuse problem in the past and it is possible she died of an overdose. Police found drug paraphernalia in the home but Blankenship was not sure what those items were.

Imperial County Sheriff's Coroner Investigator Deputy Gary Hayes said he did not find any signs of foul play after he performed an autopsy on Castro's body Saturday.

Hayes said a cause of death hasn't been determined. He will have to wait until toxicology results return so he can determine a cause of death.

Castro was found about 1:30 a.m. after a call came into dispatch to report the death. Hayes said she died not long before the call. Castro was staying with some family members at that residence.

The toxicology results will take about a month to come back to local authorities.
