Thank You: Girl donates 4-H proceeds to Cancer Society

April 30, 2002

The Imperial District of the American Cancer Society applauds one of our young citizens. Caitlin Johnson, daughter of Russell and Tonette Johnson of Imperial, recently donated earnings from her participation in the California Mid-Winter Fair 4-H poultry project to the society.

Caitlin belongs to the McCabe 4-H Club and raised the grand champion poultry meat pen and reserve champion poultry meat pen for the 2002 Fair. She requested that she be allowed to contribute earnings from the sale of her reserve champion pen to a local non-profit organization. She chose the American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Johnson, Caitlin's mother, indicated that Caitlin is a very giving child and has a strong desire to help people. We at the American Cancer Society would agree, and add that she certainly provides a positive role model for her peers. Thank you Caitlin!
