Graveside services will be at noon Saturday in Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro for Leo Emil Muller Sr., 71, of Holtville, who died Friday in his home.

The Rev. Cecilio Moraga of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Holtville will officiate.

Mr. Muller was born Feb. 25, 1931, in Holtville.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

After his military service, Mr. Muller returned to the Imperial Valley and married Lucille Tankersley in Holtville in 1938.

The Mullers made their home in Holtville, where Mr. Muller and his brothers operated a family farming business for more than 30 years.

Continuing his lifelong association with agriculture, Mr. Muller was a produce buyer for Topco Associates until he retired in 1995.

He was preceded in death by his son Denny in 1961; wife, Lucille in 1999; sister Hedi Sharp; and brother Walter Muller.


Survivors include his son, Leo Muller Jr. of Holtville; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Rosemary Muller of San Diego; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Avery Chazen of San Diego; granddaughters, Torrey and Allie Chazen, both of San Diego; sister, Martha Miller-Frank of Holtville; brother, Joseph Muller of Holtville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
