CALEXICO — Two bodies were found in the All-American Canal east of here Wednesday and officials think the victims may have been illegal immigrants.

The two bodies were found in the canal near Anza and Barbara Worth roads by U.S. Border Patrol agents. The first body was found about 10:38 a.m. and the second about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, said county Sheriff's Coroner Investigator Deputy Henry Proo.

The bodies were found near each other in the canal.

Proo said investigators think the two men may have been undocumented immigrants because of the clothing they were wearing and where they were found.

Both men were thought to be Hispanics between the ages of 25 and 30. Both are being listed as John Does because they were not carrying any identification.

Proo said he thinks the bodies had been in the water for about four days.
