SEELEY — The identity of a 15-year-old Mexicali boy who drowned in the All-American Canal was released by investigators Wednesday.
The body of Jose Angel Reyes Ojeda was found by U.S. Border Patrol agents around 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Westside Main Canal southwest of Seeley, said Imperial County Coroner Investigator Deputy Henry Proo.
The teen was reported missing Sunday. He was reported to have been swimming in the All-American Canal when he disappeared.
Proo said the boy was not attempting to cross into the U.S. but was just out for a swim.
