T.L. Waggoner Elementary would like to say "thanks" to all of the companies who took time from their busy schedules to visit with T.L. Waggoner students during our "hands-on" career day.
Ten companies sent their vehicles out to the T.L. Waggoner playground, where students could walk around to view the vehicles and ask questions. The children were able to learn a little about their jobs and how they use their vehicles on the job.
Thanks again to: Mr. Sal Ortiz from the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co., Mr. Geno Bumbera from Federal Express, Mr. Ricardo Uribe from American Freightways, Mr. Richard Canalez from Central Jordan Implement, officers Granado and Acuña from the Imperial Police Department, Imperial County Fire Department, Imperial Irrigation District, Mr. James Tucker from J.T. Towing, Mr. Richard Bendiz from the Imperial County Office of Education and U.S. Customs.
Thank you for sharing your time and resources. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed seeing the vehicles and talking to the drivers. We received many positive comments from the students and teachers and would like you to know that your efforts were greatly appreciated, as well as educationally beneficial.
