HOLTVILLE — A 29-year-old Holtville man was airlifted to San Diego on Friday for treatment of major injuries after his 2000 car smashed into a pickup at the intersection of Highway 115 and Alamo Road west of this city.
The Holtville man, David Erwin, was traveling north on Highway 115 at an unknown speed around 1:24 p.m. when the accident occurred, according to the California Highway Patrol. He was wearing his seat belt.
The accident occurred when Erwin approached the intersection and the driver of the truck, Jorge Torres of El Centro, pulled into his path, according to the Highway Patrol
Torres, 39, failed to see Erwin coming, according to the CHP. Torres did not report any injuries.
