BRAWLEY — Police here arrested a 20-year-old Brawley man and a 19-year-old El Centro woman on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale.

Arrested were Victor Garcia and Michelle Gonzalez.

Brawley police Lt. John Myers said the arrest was made after officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of McDonald's on the corner of First and Main streets. The time of the stop nor the arrest were available at presstime.

Garcia and Gonzalez were in the vehicle but Myers said he wasn't sure who was driving.

As police searched the vehicle, an amount of meth consistent with a sales arrest for Garcia and Gonzalez was found, although the amount seized was not available.

Myers said the Imperial County Narcotic Task Force was called in to seize the contraband. NTF agents could not be reached for comment this morning.

Both Gonzalez and Garcia remained in the county jail this morning. Their bail information was not available.
