Tickets available for Brawley chamber's annual dinner

BRAWLEY — There are still tickets available for the Brawley Chamber of Commerce's 98th annual dinner, "Evening on the Orient Express," on Friday at the Stockmen's Club of Imperial Valley.

The annual dinner will host honored guest and keynote speaker Capt. Larry Crane, commanding officer of Naval Air Facility El Centro.

The chamber will be bidding a farewell to Assemblyman Dave Kelley and Rep. Duncan Hunter. At the conclusion of the dinner, one individual will be chosen as this year's Branding Iron Award recipient.

Contact the Brawley chamber for tickets at 344-3160. Reservation deadline is Tuesday.

The chamber also announced its executive board for 2002-2003.

The board members are: president Joseph Ramirez, Government Agencies Federal Credit Union; first vice president Carl Russell, Russell Farms; second vice president Cindy Gibson, Gibson Tools; treasurer Dan Vernon, Rockwood Chemical; secretary Abraham Rubalcava, Lou Lange's Music Bar; and past president Steve Watte, John Benson Farms.


Returning board members are Gene Bumbera, Del Norte Chevrolet/KIA; Ted Riley, ALSCO American Linen; Jitendra Goyal, Goyal Enterprises; Chuck Valenzuela, Vic's Air Conditioning; Wayne Johnson, City Council representative; Greg Smith, Brawley Economic Development Commission president; Sue Giller, Imperial Irrigation District; Maggie Acuña-Leal, Valley Independent Bank; Dr. Liz Clark, Brawley Animal Clinic; Mary Miller, Brawley Superior Furniture; Erasmo Gonzalez, Jack Bros. & McBurney; and Carlos Weir, Brawley Family Billiards.

Newly elected board members are Fermin Fonseca of Pepsi Cola Bottling Group and Tony Sanchez of Union Bank of California.
