CALEXICO — The Calexico Chamber of Commerce released the results of its annual board of directors elections Tuesday.

Three incumbents were re-elected: Libby Peraza, a manager of Calexico's Valley Independent Bank branch and current chamber board president, Blanca Lopez of Casa Blanca Real Estate and Gil Acuña, manager of Calexico's Union Bank of California branch.

Three first-time directors were elected: Diana Moreno Inman of the Imperial Valley Small Business Development Center; Art Obeso, a manager of Western Auto; and Phil Aubry, manager of Wal-Mart.

The six potential directors were selected from a field of 16 candidates by 127 chamber members of Calexico's 500 or so members who voted, according to chamber Executive Director Hildy Carrillo-Rivera.

At its next meeting June 13, the sitting board of directors will vote to approve the elections. Any chamber member who is concerned about the election results can voice concerns before the vote, according to Carrillo-Rivera.

On June 20 the new directors will be installed at the chamber's annual dinner.

Six candidates who were not elected to the board will be allowed to serve as alternates.

The alternates are: Linda Barrientos of Linda Real Estate, Sylvia Lemus of the Best Western John Jay Inn, Robert Herrera of Brawley's Work Partnerships, Ingrid Ramirez of Golden Acorn Casino, Arturo Selwick of Selwick's and Christina Rocha of Christina's Lingerie.
