CALEXICO — Police here arrested one person and cited three others for possession of methamphetamine and heroin this morning.

Calexico police Lt. Jim Neujahr said police arrested Hiram Navalles, 22, for possession for sale of methamphetamine and possession for sale of heroin after police found 25 grams of heroin and 27 grams of methamphetamine on him.

Refugio Range, 28, Brenda Avila, 29, and Pedro Navalles, 40, were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and being in a place where drugs are used.

Neujahr said since those two offenses are misdemeanors, the three were given a citation and released. Navalles was arrested and taken to county jail.

He was being booked into county jail as of presstime this morning, so information on his bail was not available.

Neujahr said police received a report around 3 a.m. of a domestic disturbance in the 100 block of First Street.

When police arrived, they heard screams coming from one of the apartments. When police entered, they found all four arguing. They were suspected of being under the influence of narcotics.

Neujahr said Pedro Navalles is Hiram Navalles' father and one of the two women is Pedro Navalles' girlfriend.
