I would like to thank the Brawley Rotary Club for their adopt-a-highway project. They do a fine job on a very messy stretch of Highway 86. They are usually up and done very early on a weekend morning at one surprising time or another.
By the time my good neighbors in town stop at their local drinks stop and ice house and fill their cool cans, they throw their trash in the back of their trucks. Instead of using the local merchants' trash cans that are in plain view and a simple toss away, off they go, and by the time they build up a good breeze out it comes all over the highway. And you can't forget the quick fast food stop that is consumed by the time they pass the bridges, so we surely can't live with those smelly papers and cups until we get home, so out they go as well.
