CALEXICO — Imperial Valley residents with black suits and some designer sunglasses and those with antenni or squirmy tentacles should show up at Calexico's Sprint Store at 4 p.m. Saturday to participate in a "Men in Black II" costume contest.

Q-96 DJs will be the judges for the contest, awarding fabulous prizes to those who dress up as aliens or "Men in Black" agents.

The Calexico Sprint Store is at 408 E. 3rd St., Suite E.

Patti Tanner, a Texas-based marketing executive working for an affiliate of Kansas City-based Sprint PCS, hopes the contest will draw attention to the Sprint phones used in the movie.

As with more and more movies these days, "Men in Black II" features a number of product tie-ins beyond Sprint phones, including, Rockport Shoes and Ray-Ban sunglasses, both worn by dapper agents Kay and Jay, Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith.

"Men in Black II" premieres in Calexico and El Centro, and all across the country, on Wednesday.
